MIAA Academic Honors

One of the strong points in the Saint Mary’s athletic program is a strong commitment to academic achievement. The 2007-2008 proved to be successful in the classroom for many student-athletes.

After all the numbers were tallied and the grades were handed in, 45 different student-athletes were named to the MIAA academic honor roll. To achieve this distinction, the student-athlete must accumulate a GPA of at least a 3.5 or better during the entire school year. It is the sixth consecutive year that Saint Mary’s has placed at least 40 student-athletes on the prestigious list.

In addition to the individual honors, the cross country and soccer teams both posted a team GPA of 3.3 to earn MIAA team GPA honors. The cross country team’s 3.51 GPA was the seventh best team mark in the entire league and the top score among all Saint Mary’s team. The Belles soccer program tallied a GPA of 3.34.

While the MIAA honors teams with a 3.3 GPA or better, all eights of the Belles athletic squads posted a team GPA of at least 3.0 during the school year.
