Box Score (pdf)

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - After a slight delay due to some heavy snowfall, the Saint Mary's College basketball team took a 69-47 win over the visiting Alma College Scots to improve to 6-0 in MIAA play this season.

The Belles came out and took a commanding 6-0 lead in the first two and a half minutes of play.  The Scots held close and were able to tie the game at 16-16 just under the 11 minute mark.  The Belles, however, responded with a 9-0 run to go up 25-16 at 8:09 in the half.

Saint Mary's was able to double that lead over the remainder of the first half and never looked back.  The Scots were unable to cut the lead to less than 15 points in the second half as the Belles claimed their sixth MIAA victory this season.

Every Belle on the roster saw playing time in the win as the offensive efforts were balanced across the board for Saint Mary's.  Nicole Beier was the game's leading scorer with 14 points.  Erin Newsom added 12 points and had a pair of steals in the victory.  The Belles had five more players each score at least five points on the afternoon (Ronan - 9, Murphy - 8, Kammrath - 6, Mahoney - 6, Centa - 6).

The Belles will next host Albion College on Wednesday, January 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Angela Athletic Facility.
