Beavers Beat Belles in Consolation Contest

FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Saint Mary's College basketball team was handed their second-straight loss at the Raymond James Tournament as the Belles fell to Blackburn College by a 66-54 score.

The Beavers were 22-of-30 from the free throw line (73.3%) and outscored the Belles 26-18 off of turnovers to gain the margin for the win.

Kelley Murphy led the Belles with 10 points.  Erin Newsom and Maggie Ronan both added nine points.  The Belles will return to Angela Athletic Facility on January 3 when they host #1/#3 Hope College.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Erin Newsom was named to the all-tournament team.  It is the second all-tournament honor she has received this season (the other coming in the season-opening tournament at Anderson University).
