Belles Fall to Quakers at Raymond James Tournament

FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Saint Mary's College basketball team fell to Wilmington College (Ohio) on Monday in the first round of the Raymond James Tournament hosted by Franklin College by a 72-58 score.

The Quakers used a stronger performance from behind the arc and from the charity stripe to build a 38-25 lead at the half. 

The teams played a close second half, but the Belles would not be able to chip away at the lead the Quakers had gained in the first half. 

Erin Newsom and Anna Kammrath led the Belles with 10 points and nine rebounds each. Kelley Murphy also added 10 points of her own in the loss.

The Belles will face off with Blackburn College on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the consolation game of the tournament.
