SMC at MIAA NCAA Qualfier Round Two
Belles Stay on Track at Round Two of MIAA NCAA Qualifier
MARSHALL, Mich. - The #22 Saint Mary's College golf team kept right on track on their bid to represent the MIAA at the NCAA Division III Championships by winning the second of three rounds to determine the league's qualifier by a single stroke over Olivet with a 332.
The host Comets finished the round with a 333 and Hope College finished third with a 354.
Mary Kate Boyce shared medalist honors on the day with an 80 at the Medalist Golf Course. Classmate Emily Gore fired an 82 for sole possession of fifth place for the Belles.
Rosie O'Connor and Meredith Fantom both shot an 85 to tie for ninth overall. Natalie Matuszak rounded out the scoring five with a 90 on the day.
Perri Hamma, Christine Brown, and Michelle Hird all played as individuals for the Belles. Hamma shot an 84 to tie for seventh. Brown carded a 91 while Hird added a 96.
The Belles will conclude the MIAA NCAA qualifying rounds tomorrow at the Medalist Golf Course. The round is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
