Belles Shoot 340 in Day Two for Share of Twelfth
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - The Saint Mary's College golf team shot a 340 in day two of the NCAA Division III Golf Championships for a two-day total of 662 and a share of 12th place.
Moving into first place was defending champion and host Methodist University after the Monarchs fired a 310 for a combined stroke total of 631. The Belles currently share 12th place with Allegheny.
Freshman Natalie Matuszak led the Belles on day two with a nine-over 81 to move up into a tie for 39th place and a share of the top individual place for the Belles. Senior Meredith Fantom had a good day two with an 84, which included a birdie on the 11th hole. Mary Kate Boyce shot an 86 on the day and moved into a tie for 39th to share top honors for the Belles with Matuszak.
Emily Gore and Rosie O'Connor shot rounds of 89 and 90, respectively, to round out the Belles' day.
The Belles will look to bounce back on Friday with two rounds of play left. Saint Mary's will begin play at 8:20 a.m. at the Wanamaker Course of the PGA Village.
