Belles Pick Up Tenth Win of the Season

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Belles took a 20-18 lead with 7:47 left in the first half and never let go of the lead again as the Saint Mary's College basketball team took a 69-58 win over Trine University for their 10th win of the season.

Katie Rashid scored the tie-breaking layup at 7:47 to give Saint Mary's the lead for good in the first half and the Belles battled to establish a 36-31 advantage at the half.

Anna Kammrath erupted for 10 points in the second half as the Belles maintained at least a four point lead over the Thunder over the remainder of the game. 

Erin Newsom and Nicole Beier both scored a team-high 15 points for the Belles.  Kammrath finished the game with 13 points while freshman Patsy Mahoney added 12 points of her own.

The Belles remain tied atop the MIAA standings with Hope College as both teams boast an 8-1 record in league play.  The Belles next travel to Calvin College on Wednesday, January 28 for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off.
