Belles Finish Fourth at TYR Invitational
KENOSHA, Wis. - The Saint Mary's College swimming team finished fourth at the TYR Invitational hosted by Carthage College.
The Belles had strong performances by several individuals throughout the weekend. Audrey Dalrymple had the best individual finish of the weekend. The freshman finished second in the 200 yard breaststroke finals with a season-best time of 2:28.76, which was just 23 hundredths of a second off of the school record. She was also less than a second away from a school record with her performance in the 100 yard breaststroke finals with a time of 1:09.45.
Eva Cavadini turned in a pair of top 10 finishes with a fifth place finish in the 200 yard butterfly (2:21.02) and a ninth place finish in the 100 yard butterfly (1:07.42). Maggie Williams finished sixth in the 200 yard backstroke with a 2:16.95 time after having finished seventh in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:04.65.
In the distance events, Melissa Gerbeth had a pair of eighth place finishes in the 500 yard freestyle and 1650 yard freestyle with times of 5:26.30 and 19:08.31, respectively.
NCAA Division II #3 St. Cloud State University took the top finish of the weekend. The Belles finished behind NCAA Division III #11 Carthage and D-II Hillsdale for fourth place.
