ADRIAN, Mich. -- In a short course/long course combined scoring event hosted by Adrian College, the Saint Mary's College cross country team claimed a fifth place overall finish on Friday afternoon.

In the 3k portion, the Belles were once again led by Megan McClowry, who finished sixth overall in a time of 11:37.  Hanna Vicary and Clare McVey finished together in times of 12:09 (20th) and 12:10 (21st), respectively.  Arianne Rodriguez finished 25th in a time of 12:15, and Kristy Kucharski completed the course in 12:55 for a 36th place finish.

In the 6k race, it would be Catie Salyer who would turn in the top finish for the Belles.  The sophomore finished 19th with a time of 25:22.  Joanne Almond was the next harrier for the Belles to complete the 6k for the Belles with a time of 25:31 for a 22nd place finish.  Seniors Caitlin Brodmerkel, Alicen Miller, and Becca Mason were the next three finishers in the 6k with times of 26:02 (27th), 26:36 (35th), and 26:50 (39th), respectively.

The overall team results were determined by taking the top three scorers for each race and combining the finishes to determine a team total.  The Belles' scores of 40 in the 3k and 58 in the 6k gave Saint Mary's a 98 on the day and a fifth place finish in the 10 team field.

Next up for the Belles will be the Manchester College Invitational on October 18 in North Manchester, Indiana.
