Belles Finish Third at Manchester Invitational
NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- With several strong performances on the day, Megan McClowry finished 12th to lead the Saint Mary's cross country team to a third place finish at the Manchester Invitational on Saturday.
In the first 6k race of the season, McClowry was the first harrier for the Belles to cross the finish line with a time of 24:23. Keeping in fashion with much of the season, McClowry was closely followed by her teammates on the day. Senior Caitlin Brodmerkel had a solid performance on the day as she finished 15th with a time of 24:28.
Caite Salyer, Joanne Almond, and Hannah Vicary all had top-30 finishes to round out the scoring runners for the Belles on Saturday. Salyer finished 21st with a time of 24:36. Almond ran the course in 24:49 to finish in 25th. Vicary finished in 29th with a time of 25:03.
Saint Mary's finished with a team score of 99. Cornerstone took the title with a score of 46 on the day.
The Belles will next compete at the MIAA Championships on November 1 at Kalamazoo College.
