Belles Finish 17th at NCAA Regionals
OTTERBEIN, Ohio -- The Saint Mary's College cross country team concluded their season with a 17th place finish at the NCAA Division III Regionals hosted by Otterbein College.
Megan McClowry was the top finisher for the Belles yet again with a time of 24:14.52, edging out a runner from Alma by two hundredths of a second to finish 59th overall. The junior was the top finisher at each race this season for Saint Mary's.
Clare McVey was the next Belle harrier to finish the 6k race. The sophomore finished 89th with a time of 24:42.21.
Joanne Almond and Hanna Vicary finished 110th and 112th with times of 25:09.00 and 25:10.18, respectively. The fifth scoring runner for the Belles was Catie Salyer, who finished in 25:16.99 and inched past a runner from Wittenberg for 121st.
Also competing for the Belles were Caitlin Brodmerkel and Arianne Rodriguez. Brodmerkel finished in 132nd with a time of 25:30.69 while Rodriguez ran the 6k in 26:11.37 to finish 165th.
The Belles finished the race with 481 points and were just two points behind 16th place Franklin.
