MIAA Jamboree #1
Belles Finish Third in First MIAA Jamboree of Season
OLIVET, Mich. -- Rosie O'Connor paced the Belles with an 83 as the Saint Mary's College golf team turned in a 340 to finish third in the MIAA's first Jamboree of the fall season on Thursday.
O'Connor's round of 83 was good enough for a tenth place finish overall in the field of 56 golfers. Freshman Natalie Matuszak put together two rounds of 42 to finish a stroke behind O'Connor with an 84. Christine Brown was right with the pack, carding an 85 to tie for 12th place individually.
Kailey Jacob (88) and Perri Hamma (92) rounded out the scoring golfers for the Belles at the Medalist Golf Course.
Meredith Fantom shot an 85 and Jackie Dill shot a 92 as the two competed as non-scoring individuals on the day.
Defending MIAA champion Olivet had the low round in the first conference competition of the season. The Comets set an MIAA course record on their own links with a 332.
The Belles will travel to the Dartmouth Fall Invitational (Hanover, N.H.) over the weekend of September 13-14.
