NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Saint Mary's College soccer team got back on track on Wednesday with a 4-0 win over Trine University.

In a very rainy match, the Belles controlled the tempo and the ball for the majority of the contest.  The Belles out-shot the Thunder by a 33-0 margin over the course of the match.

Micki Hedinger scored her second goal of the season when Lauren Hinton sent a pass along the endline to the junior, who then finished the play by finding the back of the net in the 23rd minute.  Hedinger then picked up an assist just over 10 minutes later when she connected with Alex Mullen for her first career goal to give Saint Mary's the 2-0 lead at the half.

In the second half, Michelle Leonard sent a ball across the goal to an open Michelle Marshall who headed the ball in for her first career goal in the 62nd minute of play.  Leonard picked up her second assist of her career in the 69th minute as Lauren Hinton scored her fifth goal of the year to lift the Belles to a 4-0 win.

Patty Duffy played 68+ minutes in goal before giving way to Nicole Beier.  Neither of the two had to field a shot, thanks to a strong defensive backfield, as the Belles picked up their second shut-out win of the season.

The Belles will take to the pitch for their final home game of the regular season next Tuesday, October 21 when they host the Alma College Scots at 4:00 p.m.
