Box Score (pdf)

ALBION, Mich. -- Lorna Slupczynski surpassed the 1,000 kill and 1,000 dig marks for her career, and the Saint Mary's College volleyball team battled back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Albion College, 3-2 (20-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-15, 15-9).

Slupczynski needed 11 kills and six digs on the evening to reach the 1,000 mark for each category.  The junior outside hitter eclipsed both marks on the evening with 13 kills and 18 digs.

The momentum swung in favor of Saint Mary's in the third set when the Belles went on a seven point run to go from being down 21-16 to taking a 23-21 lead.  The run was sparked by a Meg Rose service ace, key kills by Kaela Hellmann, and hitting errors by the Britons.

In the fourth set, the Belles broke a 5-5 tie to build a 9-5 lead and never looked back to take control of the match.

Hellmann had her second strong night in a row as she led the Belles with 16 kills and added 21 digs.  Rose had a team-high 23 digs on the night.  Cathy Kurczak also had an impressive night for the Belles as the senior notched 13 kills, seven block assists, and a solo block.
