GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Saint Mary's College volleyball team split a pair of conference matches on Saturday.

In their opening match of the day, the Belles dropped a 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-12) to AVCA #16 Calvin College.  Lorna Slupczynski and Kaela Hellmann both had seven kills to lead the Belles.  Ellen Huelsmann had a team-high 13 digs in the loss.

The Belles turned right around after their first match against Calvin to face Adrian College in Grand Rapids.  Saint Mary's came out with a purpose and found a way to gain an edge to avenge a loss earlier this season to the Bulldogs by a 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 29-27) margin.

Slupczynski, Hellmann, and Cathy Kurczak combined to have just as many kills (38) as the Bulldogs did as a team.  Slupczynski led the way with 20 kills while Kurczak added 10 and Hellmann had eight.  Danie Brink had a match-high 38 assists while Ellen Huelsmann had a match-high 20 digs.

The Belles (11-5, 4-3 MIAA) will host Trine University on Wednesday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m.
