BENSENVILLE, Ill. - The Saint Mary's College softball team took a pair of wins from Robert Morris (Ill.) on Wednesday by 3-2 and 8-0 scores.
In the first game of the doubleheader, Cathy Kurczak drove in a run in the second inning to get the Belles on the scoreboard. Lauren Enayati followed up Kurczak with a hit of her own to plate two more runs for the margin of victory in the 3-2 win.
Five different Belles registered hits in the win. Monica Palicki scattered five hits over seven innings of work while picking up the win on the mound.
In the nightcap, Lauren Enayati, Kristen Nelson, Ashley Fusaro each had multiple hit efforts for the Belles in an 8-0 win. Enayati and Fusaro each tallied three hits while Nelson added two.
Angela Gillis threw a two-hit shutout while going the distance for her 11th win of the season.
The Belles earned their 20th win of the season in game two. It is the fourth straight season that the Belles have won at least 20 games, all of which coming under the guidance of fourth-year head coach Erin Sullivan.
The team (20-4, 4-2 MIAA) will host MIAA foe Albion for a league doubleheader on Saturday, April 11. The twinbill is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m., which is a change from the originally scheduled 1:00 p.m. start time.
