SMC vs. Albion

Belles Bounced by Brits

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary's College tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to MIAA foe Albion College on Saturday afternoon.

Impressive on the day for the Belles were Camille Gebert, Jessica Kosinski, and Betsy Reed in their respective singles competitions.  Gebert took little time in her #2 singles match to defeat her Albion counterpart, taking the match in straight 6-0, 6-0 sets.  Kosinski, meanwhile, only dropped two games in her #3 singles competition to win 6-1, 6-1.

Reed had an exciting match at #4 singles for the Belles.  After taking the first set by a 6-4 margin, her opponent took the second set 6-2 to force the decisive third set.  In that third set, Reed took control early and earned the win with a 6-1 score.

The Belles (5-7, 1-2 MIAA) will face cross-town rival Bethel College on Wednesday, April 15 at Bethel.  The match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
