Alumnae Volunteers

Volunteer for the Office of Admission

What are Alumnae Volunteers?

Alumnae Volunteers work on behalf of the Admission Office as a resource to prospective students, their parents, and high school guidance personnel. They share their own Saint Mary's College experiences with students to encourage them to consider Saint Mary's.

Contact with prospective students is established through various programs. The Admission Office will help to launch some of these relationships but Alumnae are also asked to initiate some contact on their own. You can choose activities that are compatible with your own time limitations and interests.

How can you get involved?

  • Represent Saint Mary’s at College Nights, Days and Fairs
College admission representatives and/or Alumnae representatives from various colleges stand behind tables while handing out college brochures, sharing information, and answering questions from high school students and their parents.
  • Referrals
We invite alumnae to add the names of their daughters and daughters' friends into our communication system.  These students will receive additional information from the Office of Admission.
  • Letters of Recommendation and Endorsed Applications
The Admission Committee welcomes letters of recommendation from Alumnae in support of applicants they have come to know. You may also show your support of an applicant's efforts to become a Saint Mary's woman by completing an Alumna Application Endorsement online.
  • Hosting Receptions for Prospective Students
Each spring the admission staff hosts receptions for accepted students and their families in select markets around the country, generally held in Alumnae's homes.  If you are interested in hosting one of these events, please contact the Office of Admission.
  • Contacting Students
Current Saint Mary's students tell us that a contact from a faculty member, student, or alumna was a determining factor in their decision to enroll at Saint Mary’s. The personal touch extended to them by the entire Saint Mary's community makes them feel like a part of a family even before moving on to campus.
