2013 Belle Awards

During the second annual NCAA Division III Week, the Saint Mary's College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) began the Belle Awards as way to recognize and celebrate the College's athletics programs.

The awards and their criteria were decided upon by the SAAC. Each team had the chance to vote on each of the subjective awards while the Athletic Department named the recipients of some awards, including the most variety of majors and Excellence in Sports Yearly awards.

 

Best Team Swag - Soccer
    Goes to the team that was voted by the varsity teams as having the best team gear

 

 

 

 

Team Award - Cross Country
    Goes to any team that takes the initiative to be a team not only on the playing arena/during season but off the playing arena/out of season; they are seen together often

 

 

 

ESPY (Excellence in Sports Yearly) Award - Shanlynn Bias, Taylor Etzell, Audrey Kiefer
    Given to three athletes that went above and beyond for their sport/team; they push themselves in the classroom, weight room, on the playing field, and continually participate in community service; help other teams when needed; build relationships with athletes on other teams

 

Best Sister Team
    Will go to the team that goes above and beyond in their dedication to their sister team; a traveling trophy will begin next year and will reside in the coach’s office of the team who wins the award

 

 

 

 

 

 

“Cow Belle” Award - Volleyball and Swimming and Diving
    Goes to the team that brings the most uniqueness to the department, from supporting each other and other teams to doing outrageous things

 

 

 

Captain Award
    Goes to all the captains from each team for their respective seasons

 

 

 

 

Team with the Most Variety of Majors - Golf
    Goes to the team with the highest percentage of variety of majors

 

 

 

 

Community Service Award - Softball
    Goes to the team that most surpasses the required amount of community service

 

 

 

 

Most Dedicated to going to Pete’s Class - Basketball
    Goes to the team that Pete deems has been most dedicated to attending fitness classes during the off season
