Saint Mary's Holds Third Place in MIAA Women's All-Sport Standings

ROYAL OAK, Mich. - With the conclusion of basketball's regular season last week, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced the updated standings for the annual Commissioner's Cup that is awarded every spring.

The Commissioner's Cup is determined on the basis of each member college's best standings in eight of nine sports for both men's and women's sports sponsored by the conference.  The tabulation through the winter season is based on five of six sports for both the men and the women.

Totals for the men's all-sports standings, women's all-sport standings, and overall standings were released by the MIAA Public Relations Office at the end of February.  Currently, Saint Mary's sits in third place in the women's all-sport standings among the nine MIAA member schools with a total of 49 points.  Calvin currently leads the way with 76 points, followed closely by Hope with 70 points.

Most recently, the Belles finised tied for third in the league in basketball while finishing fifth in swimming.

Final standings will be released after the completion of softball and tennis this spring.
