NCAA Division III Week
Division III Week is a positive opportunity for all individuals associated with a Division III institution to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on the campus and surrounding community. During the week, every Division III school and conference office is encouraged to conduct a type of outreach activity that falls into one of three categories: academic accomplishment; athletic experience; or leadership/community service/campus involvement.
2013 Division III Week
The second annual Division III Week took place April 8-14, 2013. This year, Saint Mary's celebrated their Division III membership in two large ways. Throughout the week, members of each of our eight varsity sports were featured with their own quote on what Division III athletics has meant to them. The full photo gallery of the 24 student-athletes featured can be found on our Facebook fan page by clicking here.
On Thursday of Division III Week, the Saint Mary's varsity teams along with the Athletic Department came together to host the first Belle Awards ceremony. Developed by our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, the awards were a chance to celebrate the many ways our varsity teams contribute to the campus and South Bend communities through community service, their dedication to the department, and their efforts at excelling in the classroom and in the competitive arenas. Visit this page to read more and see who our award winners were.
