Belles Down Yeowomen, Murphy Tabbed All-Tournament

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Saint Mary's basketball team defeated Oberlin in the consolation game of the Bluffton University Tip-Off Tournament by a commanding 74-37 score while sophomore Kelley Murphy was named to the All-Tournament team on Saturday afternoon.

The Belles took control early with a 10-0 run to start the game and never looked back in their second win of the season.  After the initial run, the Yeowomen got within five points of the Belles, but Saint Mary's stretched out their lead to 37-16 at the half.  

In the second half, the Belles pushed their lead to 37 twice in the final 1:06 of the game.  On the game, Saint Mary's out-scored Oberlin 54-8 in the paint and 37-9 off of turnovers.  The Belles shot over 40% from the floor on the afternoon for their highest point total of the season thus far.

Leading the way for the Belles was Kelley Murphy, who had a career-high 19 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double.  With her 30 points and 18 rebounds in the two games on the weekend, Murphy was named to the All-Tournament team.  Anna Kammrath added eight points and a game-high 13 rebounds to aid the Belles.  Additionally, every member of the team scored in the team's second 30+ point victory in just the third game of the season.
