BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Belles and Thunder were tied at 73-73 until a basket by Wheaton's Elisabeth Potts made a layup with 1:08 left to lead the Thunder to a 78-73 win over Saint Mary's in the Bluffton University Tip-Off Tournament.

Saint Mary's and Wheaton played a very tight contest in which the teams traded the lead 13 times and were tied on 12 occasions.  Moreover, neither team ever had more than an eight point lead on the evening.  

With the game tied at 42-42 at halftime, the two teams came out of the break and took turns with the lead before the Belles were able to hold onto the lead throughout most of the half.  Wheaton, however, tied the game with 2:57 on a three-pointer.  The Belles regained the lead with 2:30 to go on a layup by Anna Kammrath.  Wheaton, however, went on to outscore Saint Mary's by seven points over the final 1:37 of the game to take the 78-73 decision.

The Belles demonstrated a very balanced offensive attack against the Thunder on Friday night.  Four different players scored in double-digits as Jessica Centa led the way with 14 points.  Maggie Ronan and Patsy Mahoney added 12 points each while Kelley Murphy chipped in 11 points of her own.  

The Belles will find out later tonight who they will play in the consolation game of the Bluffton Tip-Off Tournament tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
