Ronan Named MIAA Co-Player of the Week

ROYAL OAK, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Saint Mary’s guard Maggie Ronan and Calvin forward Ally Wolffis its Players of the Week in women’s basketball for games played through January 22.

Ronan, a junior from Winston-Salem, N.C. (Bishop McGuiness HS), scored 56 points and added 13 steals as the Belles won two of their three MIAA games for the week. She scored a career-high 23 points in just 25 minutes of action as Saint Mary’s defeated Trine, 74-53, then added 22 points and eight steals in 20 minutes of play in a 90-59 victory over Kalamazoo. She then closed the week with 11 points and four steals in a 74-60 loss to Calvin. Ronan made 18 of 34 shots from the field (53 percent) and 20 of 21 from the free-throw line (95 percent) for the week.

It is the first time in her career that she has been named MIAA Player of the Week.
