Ronan Earns Second Consecutive MIAA Co-Player of the Week Honor

ROYAL OAK, Mich.  – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Saint Mary’s guard Maggie Ronan and Alma forward Sydney Beckwith its Players of the Week in women’s basketball for games played through January 29.

Ronan, a junior from Winston-Salem, a junior from Winston-Salem, N.C. (Bishop McGuiness HS), scored 47 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in leading the Belles to two MIAA wins. She fired in a career-high 31 points and added six rebounds in a 76-66 win over Olivet, then added 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals as Saint Mary’s defeated Alma, 82-72. Ronan made 13 of 26 shots from the field (50 percent) and 20 of 23 free throws (87 percent) for the week.

It is the second consecutive week she has earned the distinction. It is also the second time of her career she has been named MIAA Player of the Week.
