Paul Garners MIAA Player of the Week Honor
ROYAL OAK, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Saint Mary’s forward Ariana Paul its Player of the Week in women’s basketball for games played through January 18.
Paul, a junior from Valparaiso, Ind. (Valparaiso HS), averaged 18.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.0 assists as the Belles split a pair of MIAA contests. She scored 21 points, pulled down 14 rebounds, including seven on the offensive end, and added five steals and five assists in leading Saint Mary’s to a 67-64 overtime victory over Albion. She also had 15 points and seven rebounds in a loss to Calvin. Paul shot 52 percent from the field (13 of 25) and 83 percent from the line (10 of 12) for the week.
She is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time this season and second time in her career.
