Inclement Weather Plan

What if it rains?

While we prefer to host Commencement on the beautiful lawn in front of Le Mans Hall, May weather in Indiana can be quite unpredictable. As a result, we have an established back up plan to move the ceremony indoors to Angela Athletic & Wellness Complex. Here is what you need to know!

When will decision be made?

The Office of the President will make the final decision at 8 a.m. on the day of Commencement. Students will be notified by email and it will also appear on social media channels and the College website.

Where will it be?

In the event of rain, the ceremony will move to Angela Athletic & Wellness Complex and be held on our competition courts. Bleachers and chairs will be provided for guests.

Who can attend?

In the event of rain, any guest in possession of one of the five tickets distributed to each graduate will be admitted. This policy is in place simply due to space limitations. (Please note: spectators MUST bring tickets with them to Angela if the ceremony is indoors, and doors will not open before 11:00 a.m.)

How are tickets distributed?

Each graduating senior will receive an envelope with five tickets for their guests in the week prior to graduation. Instructions for how students may obtain rain tickets may be found under Info for Seniors/Rain Ticket Instructions.

Can I still watch if I don't have a ticket?

Yes! For those who don't have Commencement tickets but are in town to celebrate graduation a live simulcast will also be shown on campus. This will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) in O'Laughlin Auditorium, Moreau Center for the Arts on Saturday, May 18.
