Belles Finish Season at NCAA Regionals

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Saint Mary's cross country team finished the 2009 season with a 17th place finish at the NCAA Division III Regionals hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday.

#1 nationally ranked Calvin College took first place team honors with a score of 50.  The Belles finished with a total score of 462 and ahead of conference foes Alma, Albion, Kalamazoo, and Trine.

The Belles were led by freshman Julia Kenney, who finished 61st overall and was the 60th scoring runner to finish with a time of 24:18.20.  Not far behind Kenney was sophomore Joanne Almond, who was the 63rd scoring runner to finish in a time of 24:25.12 for the Belles.  

Senior Megan McClowry was the next harrier for the Belles to finish the 6k with a 25:11.57 time and 105th scoring place.  Sam Wieczorek finished in 25:19.58 (113) and Emma Baker ran a 25:25.26 (121) to round out the scoring five for Saint Mary's on Saturday.

Arianne Rodriguez (26:23.68, 158) and Catie Salyer (27:02.13, 173) both ran as alternates for the Belles.
