Belles Take Third Place at Wabash Hokum Karem



CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - The Saint Mary's cross country team captured third place at the 49th Wabash Hokum Karem race on Saturday.

The #12 ranked DePauw Tigers took first place with a score of 12 while NCAA Division II University of Indianapolis claimed second with a 17 to finish ahead of the Belles' 26.

The duo of Julia Kenney and Joanne Almond were the top finishers for Saint Mary's as they took third place overall in a time of 23:27. Clare McVey and Catie Salyer were the next pair of Belles to finish on Saturday as they had a combined time of 24:45 to be the tenth scoring-eligible group to complete the course. Emma Baker and Lauren Easton wrapped up the scoring of Saint Mary's with a 24:57 for a score of 13.

Kristy Kucharski and Sam Wassel finished 18th overall in 25:33. Elizabeth Majewski and Angie Bronicki were also under the 26-minute mark with a time of 25:55.

The Belles host their annual alumnae race next Saturday and return to action on Saturday, September 18 at the Calvin Invitational.
