Belles Finish Second at Eagle Invitational



LISLE, Ill. - The Saint Mary's cross country team finished second out of 17 teams at the 2010 Benedictine University Eagle Invitational on Friday.

The Belles turned in a team score of 58, tying Elmhurst for second while finishing behind NAIA St. Francis (Ill.), who had a team score of 41.

Joanne Almond and Julia Kenney continued to provide a strong one-two punch for the Belles as Almond finished second overall in 23:41 while Kenney was right behind her in third with a time of 23:49.
  Catie Salyer and Emma Baker finished back-to-back with 14th and 15th place finishes.  Salyer ran a 24:42 while Baker completed the 6k course in 24:46.  Sam Wassel was the fifth finisher for Saint Mary's on Friday with a time of 25:08 for 24th place out of over 160 runners.

The Belles will next travel to the Manchester Invitational for their last meet before the MIAA Championships later this month at Calvin College.
