I want to be a social worker because I want to make other peoples lives more enjoyable. Over the years I have realized that the academic courses the Social Work department has to offer fits my goals and values. I want to be of importance when it comes to dealing with challenges other people face. I want to be someone they can count on. I am going to use my social work degree to help improve the lives of others by reaching out to them and comforting them in time of need. To me, success is not measured by the amount of money I make or the title of my job, but rather knowing that I made one person breath easier is success to me.

Ever since I was young I knew I wanted to do something that involved helping people. When I first arrived at college, I started off in nursing. I shortly found out it was not the major for me. I then started thinking about Social Work because my mom is a Social Worker and loves it. After I took my first Social Work class I knew that I was in the right place. The main purpose of the field was helping people and trying to make other people’s lives better. I know that I cannot help every single person in the world, but I would at least want to try and give it my all. I want to be a Social Worker because I want to help as many people as I possibly can.

I want to be a social worker because I want to encourage, empower, and enable change in people lives. I love the thought of having a job that will allow me to be able to help people and to make a difference in their lives. My passion and my goal in life are to bring about social justices. I want to be a social worker so I can give people the courage and motivation that they may need in order to succeed in life. Being a social worker is a profession I know that I will be satisfied to say that I am doing, because it a very fulfilling career to have. In short I basically just want to let people know that they are capable of greatness.
