    Description:

    The Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund aids people active in movements for social and economic justice. These need-based scholarships are awarded to students who are able to do academic work at the college or university level or are enrolled in a trade or technical program and who are active in the progressive movement. Early recipients worked for civil rights, against McCarthyism and for peace in Vietnam. Recent grantees have been active in the struggle against racism, sexism, homophobia and other forms of oppression; building the movement for economic justice; and creating peace through international anti-imperialist solidarity. Applicants must have participated in activities in the US, and there is a strong preference for applicants who plan on working in this country.

    Description:

    Five students will each be awarded a $5,000 scholarship.

    • All applicants must be enrolled, or due to be enrolled, as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university for the semester that they are applying to receive the scholarship. 
    • Applicants are not required to have a minimum GPA. 
    • Applicants are not required to have a specific Major.
    • Domestic, international, and undocumented students may apply.
    • Students attending online universities are welcome to apply.

We’re looking for short, less than 2 minute long videos that focus on entertaining us, while being creative and innovative with your ideas! The field of dentistry already gets a bum rap as far as fun-ness! We want to up the FUN quotient by evaluating the video submissions for the scholarship on these qualities. The topic of the video submissions for 2017 will be: Tell (or enact for us) what super power you would love to have and how you would use it to help create better dental health in all people!

    • The goal of the ExtremeTerrain Scholarship program is to raise more awareness for the recreational use of public lands as it is an important issue to us at ExtremeTerrain and our customers. At the same time we support youth who are working towards a career in the environmental/recreational land use planning/land management industry, which in larger supports the movement to maintain recreational access to public lands. ExtremeTerrain places an emphasis on community awareness and environmental awareness and supports those who hold the same value system.

    Additional Criteria: Students currently enrolled and matriculated in a state-approved nursing program leading to an associate degree, baccalaureate, diploma, direct-entry master’s degree; or enrolled in an RN to BSN completion, RN to MSN completion, or LPN/LVN to RN program; Pre-nursing students taking courses to prepare for matriculation into a nursing program; Attending classes and taking no less than six (6) credits per semester. Involvement in nursing school organizations and/or community health activities; Document academic achievement; Establish financial need; U.S. Citizen or Alien with U.S. Permanent Resident Status/Alien Registration Number; High school students are not eligible to apply; Funds are not available for graduate study unless it is for a first degree in nursing. (Master’s direct-entry nursing program students are eligible)
