Golf - Belles Finish Second at NCAA Qualifier

MARSHALL, MI – In the final round of the MIAA qualifier for the NCAA Golf Championships, Saint Mary’s fired the low round with a team score of 342 but finished the 54-hole event in second place to Olivet who shot a 343 on Saturday afternoon. The final two rounds where played at the Medalist Golf Club on Friday and Saturday.

Of the seven schools that sponsor golf in the MIAA, the team which has the lowest cumulative score after the completion of the three rounds will get the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Olivet tallied a three-round total of 1012 while Saint Mary’s carded a 1034 to finish second overall.

Golf - Saint Mary's Finishes Sixth at IWU Spring Fling

NORMAL, IL – Saint Mary’s fired a team total of 659 to finish tied for sixth at the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling which was held at Ironwood Country Club.

Illinois Wesleyan won the event after shooting a 638. Meaghan Brennen of Ohio Northern and Amanda Sanders of Olivet took individual medalist honors as each of them shot a 151.

Golf - Belles Finish Second at Vasser Invitational

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Saint Mary’s golf team came up six strokes short in an attempt to win the Vasser Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Casperkill Golf Course. The Belles finished second with a two-round team total of 691 to finish behind Williams who fired a 685.

The Belles entered the final round of the two-day event 14 shots off the lead but couldn’t quite make up the difference during the final 18 holes.

Golf - Belles Place Second in MIAA Qualifier First Round

ANGOLA, IN – In the first of three rounds to determine the NCAA automatic qualifier for the MIAA, the Saint Mary’s golf team fired a 337 to place second behind Olivet who shot a 319 at Zollner golf course on the campus of Tri-State University.

Megan Rimmel, also from Olivet, posted the best individual round with a 74.

Golf - Belles Finish Tied for Third at TSU Invitational

FORT WAYNE, IN – At Brookwood Country Club on Saturday afternoon Saint Mary’s fired a 351 to finish tied for third with St. Francis (IL) during the Tri-State Spring Invitational.

Bethel (IN) won the team event with a 317 while Brooke Gilbert, also from Bethel, carded a 75 to take individual medalist honors.

Golf -- Belles Finish 18th an NKU Invitational

PERRY PARK, KY – On a soggy, wet course the Saint Mary’s golf team finished 18th with a two-round total of 702 at the Northern Kentucky Invitational. After shooting an opening round 354 the Belles responded with a 348 in the second round.

Grand Valley State won the 21 team event with a 621.

Golf -- Saint Mary's Finishes 10th in First Spring Event

VASS, NC – In their first event of the spring season, the Saint Mary’s golf team finished 10th at the St. Andrew Spring Invitational at Woodlake Resort & Golf Club. Over the two round and 11 team event, the Belles shot a two-day total of 742 (373-369).

Pfeiffer won the event with a team score of 639 (327-312). Brittany Beltran, also from Pfeiffer, took the individual medalist crown carding a 149 (73-76).

Golf - Saint Mary's Finishes in Third at MIAA Championships; O'Brien Claims Season Medalist Honors, Gore Honored (October 6)

BATTLE CREEK, MI – The Saint Mary's golf team fired a final round 348 to finish with a two-round total of 697 to place third at the MIAA Championships at Bedford Valley Country Club. Olivet won the Championships with a two-day total of 665 while Lindsey Pipkin, also from Olivet, took medalist honors at the event with a 163 (84-79).

Leading the way for the Belles was Katie O'Brien who posted a two-day total of 168 (85-83) to finish tied for third. In addition to O'Brien's effort for the Belles, Emily Gore fired a 175 (87-88) while Rosie O' Conner tallied a 177 (88-89). Perri Hamma also recorded a 177 (89-88) and Michelle Hird’s 182 (91-91) rounded out the scorers for the Belles.

Golf - Saint Mary’s Third After Round One (October 5)

BATTLE CREEK, MI – After the first 18-hole of the MIAA Golf Championship, Saint Mary’s sits in third place after firing an opening round 349. Tri-State leads the event with a 338 while Olivet is in second with a 341 to its credit.

The final round tees off on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. at Bedford Valley Country Club.

Katie O’Brien led a Saint Mary’s charge by posting a 84 in helping the Belles finish fourth in the final MIAA Jamborees during the fall golf season. The event took place at Buck Run Golf Course.

Saint Mary’s fired a 351 as a team while Olivet took top team honors with a 324. O’Brien finished tied for sixth overall as Hope’s Julie Hoogerhyde took medalist honors for the day with a 74.

The Saint Mary’s golf squad fired a second round 333 en route to finishing 15th in the 21 team field at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic. The Belles had entered the round in 17th after Saturday’s first round score of 355.

Golf - Belles Take Second at Jamboree, Again (September 11)

Katie O’Brien led a Saint Mary’s charge by posting a 78 in helping the Belles finish second in the second of three MIAA Jamborees during the fall golf season. The event took place at Zollar Golf Course on the campus of Tri-State.

In addition to O’Brien’s effort for the Belles, Amanda Mainstone fired an 83 while Emily Gore tallied an 85. Rosie O’Conner (87) and Megan Lehr (93) rounded out the scorers for the Belles.

Golf - O'Brien Paces Belles to Second at Jamboree (September 8)

Katie O’Brien led a Saint Mary’s charge by posting a 76 in helping the Belles finish second in the first of three MIAA Jamborees during the fall golf season.

The second Jamboree is Tuesday afternoon at Tri-State before the final Jamboree at Alma on September 25.

Golf - Belles Finish Tied for 13th at Ferris State (September 2)

After firing a 356 first round on Saturday afternoon, the Saint Mary’s golf team responded with a 341 for a two-round total of 697 to finish tied for 13th at the Ferris State Invitational.

Ferris State won the event with a two-round total of 616. Ferris State’s Jacqueline Benscoter shot an even par 144 to claim individual medalist honors.
