NORMAL, Ill. - The #5 Saint Mary's golf team is currently in fifth place at the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling after shooting a 335 on Saturday in the two-round tournament.
DePauw currently leads the field of 18 teams after shooting a blistering 316, including three sub-80 rounds. Camila Romero and Taylor Beaty of DePauw tied for top honors on the day as the pair shot 74s.
Rosie O'Connor led the way for the Belles on the day with a 78 on matching 39-39 scores on the front and back nine to hold a share of sixth place.
Natalie Matuszak and Mary Kate Boyce shot rounds of 82 and 83, respectively, as they are tied for 17th and 22nd. Perri Hamma rounded out the scoring four for the Belles with a 92 to tie for 66th in the field of more than 100 golfers.
The Belles will look to gain ground on the teams ahead of them when the tournament concludes tomorrow afternoon at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois.
