CODEPINK Peace Ribbon Displayed
Twenty panels of the CODEPINK Peace Ribbon are currently on display at the library through March 11, 2011. A series of programs is being scheduled in connection with the exhibit.
CODEPINK is a women-initiated grassroots peace and social justice movement working to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, stop new wars, and redirect our resources into healthcare, education, green jobs and other life-affirming activities.
The Peace Ribbon Project honors the victims of the Iraq War by creating a cloth memorial panel to individual fallen soldiers, Iraqi civilians, and others affected by the wars. It is an ongoing grassroots project where individuals and groups make a panel. Over 400 panels have been completed.
