Special Exhibit: 30th Anniversary of the Cushwa-Leighton Library!
In a good library, an inquiring mind can seek nourishment in the recorded memory of mankind. It can choose among scores of teachers, boldly explore the vast diversity of human thought and base its conclusions on centuries of evidence. Good libraries are needed to serve and supplement teaching and to support research. A good library helps us to learn continuously, to use our leisure intelligently, and to govern ourselves wisely.
We at Saint Mary's are proud to dedicate the Cushwa-Leighton Library, for it stands as a source of knowledge and embodies our hopes and dreams for a bright future.
-- John M. Duggan, former President, Saint Mary's College
These words are as true today as they were upon the official dedication of the Cushwa-Leighton Library in 1982. Please stop by the library and enjoy the exhibit of pictures and mementos to commemorate the design, construction, and formal opening of the current library 30 years ago. Times have changed, but the overall goals remain the same!
