Women Empowered for Peace: Models of Change and Hope
At noon on Monday, February 14 in the Mother Pauline Room of the Cushwa-Leighton Library, Karen Jacob, national chair of WAND (Women's Action for New Directions) will host a conversation entitled "Women Empowered for Peace: Models of Change and Hope."
Karen Jacob is a peace activist and advocate who chairs the national board of Women's Action for New Directions. WAND lobbies against militarism at the expense of other critical needs here in the U.S. Karen Jacob is a past recipient of the Gandhi Peace Prize for her consistent activism and lifetime work for peace.
A light lunch will be served. This event is co-sponsored by the Cushwa-Leighton Library, the Justice Education Program, and the Center for Women's InterCultural Leadership.
