COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters
Saint Mary’s will require students to be up-to-date with the COVID-19 vaccine and booster by January 21, 2022, and employees by February 7, 2022. Those not eligible to receive a booster before these dates because they received their second Pfizer or Moderna dose less than 5 months ago or Johnson & Johnson less than 2 months before this date, are required to provide proof of vaccination within two weeks from becoming eligible. The CDC recommends those who have had COVID to receive a booster, unless it is medically contraindicated due to COVID treatment received. If you are eligible for a booster but have had COVID in the last 90 days, and have medical documentation that requires to wait before receiving the booster, please contact HCCenter@saintmarys.edu if you are a student, or HR@saintmarys.edu if you are an employee.
We have created this resource webpage to share information pertaining to this extended vaccination requirement, along with several locations where boosters are available in our area.

Saint Mary’s College Booster Clinic
At this time, Saint Mary’s is not able to offer a booster clinic on our campus. We will update this information if we are able to do so in the future.
Through a grant from the Faith in the Vaccine program, we are able to provide transportation in some cases. Please contact Rebekah Go in the Office of the Common Good with your request before scheduling your booster, to ensure someone is available to take you to the appointment.
There is no cost to get the COVID vaccine or the booster shot. If you have insurance, bring your information with you, and the cost of administering the vaccine will be charged to, and will be covered by, your insurance. If you do not have insurance, there is still no cost to you to receive the vaccine.
You should follow the requirements of your chosen booster vaccination site, but in general, plan to bring a photo ID, your vaccination card, and insurance information (if you have it).
Students who are not in compliance with the booster requirement by January 21, 2022, or their designated deadline, will be referred to the student conduct process, and will have a hold on their account that will prevent them from registering for Fall 2022 classes. Employees who are not in compliance by February 7, 2022, or their designated deadline, will be referred to Human Resources for follow up. Additionally, individuals who are not up-to-date with the COVID-19 vaccine (including the booster, if eligible), will be required to participate in weekly screening testing, mask indoors even when other masking protocols are relaxed, and quarantine if identified as close contacts to a positive case.
Booster Shot Eligibility
If you are at least 16 years of age, and it has been at least five months since you received the second dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, or at least two months since you received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, you are eligible for a booster.
The CDC is a great resource for clear, scientific information regarding COVID-19, vaccinations and their efficacy, the booster shot, and more.
Vaccination Booster Exemptions
For those who are already fully vaccinated, medical exemptions will be considered if your doctor provides documentation that the administration of the booster is contraindicated. No other exemptions will be granted to those already vaccinated. Students should contact HCCenter@saintmarys.edu and employees should contact HR@saintmarys.edu for information on medical exemptions for the booster. Note: If you have previously received an exemption from the required vaccination, and it is still active/valid, you do not need to reapply for an exemption from the booster.
