Frances Kominkiewicz, M.S.W., Ph.D.

Biography

Frances Bernard Kominkiewicz earned her Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana, her Master of Science in Administration (M.S.A.) degree from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana, her Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) from Indiana University School of Social Work, Indianapolis, Indiana, and her Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.) from Indiana University School of Social Work, Indianapolis, Indiana.  Dr. Kominkiewicz has many years of clinical social work experience.  She is licensed by the State of Indiana as a L.C.S.W. (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and as a L.M.F.T. (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist).  Dr. Kominkiewicz worked as a School Social Worker at School City of Mishawaka, Mishawaka, Indiana, and was a Social Worker and Counselor at Catholic Charities/Catholic Social Service, South Bend, Indiana.  She is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers, the National Association of Social Workers, the Association of Baccalaureate Program Directors, and the Council on Social Work Education.  Dr. Kominkiewicz is very involved with community-based research.  She has published in such areas as child welfare, child abuse investigations, interviewing children who have been emotionally, physically, or sexually abused, and domestic violence education for social workers.  She has presented and published nationally and internationally.  Her book chapter on conducting child welfare investigations is used in child abuse investigative training in Germany and other European countries.  Dr. Kominkiewicz's research has been cited in publications from China to the U.K.
