An Evening with Jacqueline Woodson

An Evening with Jacqueline Woodson

Sep 28

Moreau Center for the Arts, O'Laughlin Auditorium

Join us for an evening of conversation with National Book Award-winning author of Brown Girl Dreaming, four-time Newbery Honor winner, and MacArthur Fellow, Jacqueline Woodson.

As National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, Woodson will be speaking about her platform of “READING = HOPE x CHANGE (What’s Your Equation?).” With this message, Woodson hopes to encourage young people to think about–and beyond–the moment we’re living in, the power they possess, and the impact reading can have on showing them ways in which they can create the hope and the change they want to see in the world.

Tickets for this event are $12. SMC students are free and can pick up tickets at the box office. Special discount given to community educators and their students, contact hust@saintmarys.edu for more information.

Tickets can be ordered online, at the Saint Mary's Box Office, or by calling 574-284-4905.

PLEASE NOTE: Per the College’s COVID policy, masks are required for all indoor campus events.
