Assistant Professor of Biology/Tenure-Track Position

The Department of Biology, Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana, invites applications for one tenure-track appointment in biology at the Assistant Professor level beginning August, 2016. Saint Mary's College is a Catholic liberal arts college for women with a strong commitment to undergraduate education.

Applicants must hold (or be at completion of) a Ph.D. in the biological sciences. The successful candidate will have expertise in Neurobiology; experience in Developmental Biology is desirable. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory Human Anatomy and Physiology (for nursing majors) and can include specialty courses in her/his areas of knowledge.

The College supports the development of study abroad and/or experiential learning courses as well as the development of courses that could contribute to interdisciplinary fields such as global, intercultural, neuroscience, or gender/women’s studies. Research involving undergraduates is required. A strong commitment to undergraduate education of women, a liberal arts education, and service to the department and the College is expected.

The appointee will be a Lilly New Faculty Scholar during the first two pre-tenure years. As such, s/he will receive course load reductions and some financial support for research. Lilly New Faculty Scholars are expected to develop campus ties within the institution by participating in cross-divisional interactions with other college units.

Assistant Professor of Nursing Science/Tenure Track Position

The Department of Nursing Science, Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana, invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in nursing science at the Assistant Professor level beginning August, 2016.
