International Student Scholarship

The six levels of academic scholarships are as follows:

  • Moreau Presidential
  • Presidential Scholarship
  • Dean's Scholarship
  • Madeleva Scholarship
  • Le Mans Award
  • Bertrand Award

The Saint Mary's Scholarship Committee evaluates the total profile of each student by reviewing:

  • The challenge of her curriculum
  • Grade point average
  • Class rank (when appropriate)
  • Test scores
  • Extracurricular activities

Factors are not considered in isolation, so each scholar presents a unique profile.

Recipients are selected at the time of admission, on the basis of their academic achievements in high school. Note: transfer students are selected at the time of admission, on the basis of their academic achievements in previous college credit earned.

For maximum merit scholarship consideration, applicants must complete their Application for Admission and Scholarship (including submission of all credentials) no later than February 15.

Merit scholarships are renewable and students may receive the scholarships for a maximum total of eight semesters (fall and spring semesters only) provided the student continues to maintain full time enrollment and the minimum cumulative grade point average required for her scholarship.  Grade point averages are reviewed once per year at the conclusion of the spring semester.  The grade point averages required for each scholarship are listed below.  Note that we look at cumulative grade point averages and we do not round.

  • Moreau Presidential Scholarship - 3.000
  • Presidential Scholarship - 3.000
  • Dean's Scholarship - 2.800
  • Madeleva Scholarship - 2.700
  • Le Mans Award - 2.500
  • Bertrand Award - 2.500

Merit funds are restricted to tuition and may be reduced if other tuition-restricted funds are received from outside sources.
