Illinois Wesleyan Takes Out Saint Mary’s, 4-0
Illinois Wesleyan posted a strong offensive effort in knocking off Saint Mary’s 4-0 Sunday afternoon in non-conference women’s soccer action.
The win lifts the Titans record to 5-3 while Saint Mary’s falls to 1-5.
Illinois Wesleyan took control of the game and never looked back midway through the first half when they scored four goals in a 10-minute span. Eileen Ouska scored goals in the 20 th and 23 rd minute both off Elizabeth Sinclair passes. Lyndsay O’Brien scored the Titans next goal in the 25 th minute when she blasted the ball in the upper-90 portion of the goal from 10-yards out. Carly Calkins scored at the 29:24 mark when she found the back of the net off a previous shot that hit the post.
The Titans outshot Saint Mary’s 26-3 and peppered Belles’ goalie Laura Heline with 15 shots on goal. Illinois Wesleyan had an 11-2 edge in corner kicks.
