Belles Fall in MIAA Opener to Bulldogs

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Saint Mary's College soccer team fell 3-0 in their MIAA opener of the season to Adrian College on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs scored goals in the 22nd, 25th, and 34th minutes of the game as Birttany Moreau netted the eventual game-winner and Lindsay Chitwood added the second and third goals of the game.

Once again, the Belles out-shot their opponent.  Saint Mary's registered 11 shots, with seven of those being on goal, while Adrian notched nine shots.  Eight different Belles had at least one shot.  Corissa Hart and Bridget Ronayne both had two shots on goal for Saint Mary's.

Patty Duffy played all 90 minutes in goal for the Belles and made four saves.

Saint Mary's will return home to face in-state MIAA rival Trine University on Saturday for a 10:00 a.m. contest.
