Senior Day Spoiled by Scots

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary's College soccer team fell by a 5-1 score to visiting Alma College on Saturday afternoon.

The visiting Scots were able to gain the momentum of the game early with a pair of goals in the 24th and 27th minutes. 

After Alma took a 3-0 lead into the half, the Belles opened up the second half with a quick goal of their own.  Less than four minutes into the second half, Ashley Morfin connected with Micki Hedinger for senior's ninth career goal.

Alma, however, would add two more goals in the half to take the 5-1 decision.

Patty Duffy played all 90 minutes in goal for the Belles while tallying eight saves.

Saint Mary's will have a slight break from MIAA play when they host Elmhurst (Ill.) College on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
