Squad Earns NSCAA Team Aacademic Award

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary's soccer team earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for 2009-10. It is the fifth consecutive year that the program has earned the academic distinction.

A total of 640 soccer teams (196 men, 444 women) across the NAIA and all three branches of the NCAA posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2009-10 academic year. The Belles earned the award by posting a 3.44 team cumulative GPA.

Saint Mary's was one of four MIAA women's teams to earn the honor with the other three schools being Alma, Hope, and Olivet.  It is also the sixth time in the last seven years that the team has received the award.
