Belles Drop Decision to Carthage

OSHKOSH, Wis. - In their opening game of the
UW-Oshkosh Women's Soccer Invitational, the Saint Mary's soccer team fell by a 3-0 score to Carthage on Saturday.

The Belles battled to a scoreless 0-0 tie at the end of the first half as Kristen Nelson tallied four saves in the first 45 minutes of play.

With Carthage playing with the wind at their backs in the second half, the Lady Reds netted a goal in the 48th minute and added two more goals in the half to take the 3-0 win over Saint Mary's.

Mollie Valencia had two shots for the Belles while Anna Stollhans, Ellie Jacques, and Katelyn Tondo-Steele each added shots in the game. Nelson finished the game with nine saves in goal for Saint Mary's.

The Belles (0-2) will take on the host Titans tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. CST.
