SMC vs. Kalamazoo
Belles Shut Out by Hornets
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary's soccer team fell 2-0 to Kalamazoo in an MIAA contest on Friday evening.
The Hornets broke the scoreless tie with just 1:15 left before half time on a chip shot from inside the 18 yard box. Kalamazoo then added an insurance goal in the 62nd minute on a header from inside the box to take the 2-0 decision.
Kaitlin Teichman, Corissa Hart, Maddie Meckes, and Ellie Jacques each had shots on goal. Teichman and Meckes each looked to have a goal for the Belles, but their scoring efforts were stymied by the Kalamazoo goalkeeper on a diving save and a leaping save, respectively.
The Belles will return to play when they host Olivet on Tuesday, October 19 for a 4:00 p.m. contest against the Comets.
