Belles Suffer Setback Against Manchester
NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Saint Mary's soccer team was dealt a tough 2-0 loss to Manchester on Tuesday evening.
Despite the Belles maintaining control of the ball throughout the majority of the game and holding an 18-13 edge on shots, the Spartans were able to capitalize on two of their eight shots on goal for the win.
The game was scoreless until late in the second half. Manchester broke the 0-0 deadlock with a deep chip shot that found the back of the net in the 79th minute. The Spartans scored another goal in the final minute of play to take the 2-0 decision.
Five different players had multiple shots for Saint Mary's in the loss. Corissa Hart, Katelyn Tondo-Steele, and Mollie Valencia each had two shots on goal for the Belles.
Caitlin Walsh had six saves while shouldering the loss in goal.
The Belles will return home to host Franklin College on Sunday with the start being scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
