Belles End Season With Victory Over Thunder
ANGOLA, Ind. - The Saint Mary's soccer team wrapped up the 2010 season with a 3-1 win over in-state MIAA foe Trine on a blustery Wednesday afternoon.
The Thunder took an early lead in the fifth minute of play. The Belles were able to counter with a pair of back-to-back goals in the 24th and 26th minutes. Katelyn Tondo-Steele tied the game at 1-1 on an unassisted goal at 23:04. Maddie Meckes then scored her first game-winner of her collegiate career by heading home a pass from Mollie Valencia at the 25:28 mark.
Ten minutes later, Ashley Morfin connected a pass with Tondo-Steele for the Tondo-Steele's fourth goal of the season and an insurance score for the Belles.
Caitlin Walsh tallied a pair of saves in the win in goal for the Belles.
